LRC Student Ministry exists to lead students in grades 6-12 to become full participants in the body and mission of Jesus Christ. We believe this happens by partnering with parents, surrounding students with an invested adult and peers in a small group, and providing opportunities to serve and share Christ with others. In addition to the two weekly environments listed below students are involved in mission trips, camps, retreats and more. Our desire is for all students to be changed by Christ in order become world changers.
Refuge is our main weekly student ministry environment for 6th-12th graders. It takes place every Wednesday night from 6:30 – 8:15. Find out more HERE.
Every Sunday from 9 – 9:50 AM students in grades 6-12 get together for Bible study.
For the Fall 2018 Semester there is a combined class for all Middle School and High School students. The fall curriculum is called WONDERS, MIRACLES, and SIGNS. It is centered around the Gospel stories of Jesus. We will look at some of our students favorite stories of Jesus. Our hope is to once again find the awe and fascination with these stories as Jesus encountered those broken, hurt, spiteful, and in need of encounter with Jesus.
We believe serving others is important to the spiritual growth of a student. They are an important part of our body and mission. Therefore, we provide opportunities for students in grades 7-12 to serve within our church body every Sunday morning. Students may serve as assistants or co-leaders in LRC Kids Ministry or assist with Children’s Church and our nurseries. Additionally, students learn to serve in other areas of ministry at Refuge by leading worship or lending their instrumental talents to our youth band. We serve through mission experiences and local ministry activities throughout the year.
