Revelation 2:18-29 – “A Stronger Faith”

1. Read Revelation 2:2, 2:9, and 2:20 to notice how many imposters tried to infiltrate their way into the church.  How can we guard ourselves against teaching and teachers antithetical to the Lordship of Jesus?

2. One of the problems with the church in Thyatira is that they allowed false teaching into the congregation.  Jesus calls this the “deep things of Satan” in verse 24.   Why should we be content and how can we guard ourselves against thinking we need special knowledge to grow in our relationship with God? See Ephesians 1:3 for help.

3. The rod of iron in verse 27 is a reference to Psalm 2:9.  The imagery is about the authority that is given to those who stay faithful until the end.  How is this an encouragement for Christians who feel helpless in this life?
